Brothers Greg and Mike Huckle opened Pirates Steakhouse and Pub on the second of October 1990. Their motto was 'A HAPPY CUSTOMER ALWAYS COMES BACK'.
Greg says that although they struggled in the beginning, they always stuck to their motto and still do. Shortly after opening, Greg married Julie, an experienced restaurateur, who joined him in the running of the business. Together with a dedicated group of staff members they have built a formidable team that are committed to giving their customers the high standard of service they deserve.
In August 1992 Pirates formed its unique Dining Club, inviting local diners to join for a very modest Fee.
The club, with now more than 2,100 members, has proved to be a huge success. You don't have to be a member to visit the restaurant or pub, but you will find that by joining the club, you will have nothing to lose and everything to gain. The benefits enjoyed by Pirates Club Members include a variety of monthly dining specials, Happy Hours in the pub and a R75.00 meal voucher on their birthday.

Live music is supplied with our compliments for the benefit of diners ordering a meal.
There is a R25 cover charge for any guest who is not ordering a main meal during peak hours.
At Pirates we offer a good selection of wines and a wide variety of other liquid refreshments to complement our mouth-watering meals. We do this as a means of providing income for ourselves and for our staff. Guests are therefore not permitted to bring their own refreshments (including wine) when frequenting our establishment.
A service charge is not included - please tip your waitress when providing you with excellent service. For your convenience, using 10% as a guideline when tipping is appreciated.
For parties of 8 or more, however, a 10% service charge will be added to your final total. This service charge goes directly to your waitress.
Our children’s menu is not available after 7.30pm and children are not allowed in the main restaurant after 9pm. Will parents please keep their children quiet out of respect for other diners.
Only Elvis may dance on the tables.
