One of the oldest surviving structures in Paris, the Arenes de Lutece is a Gallo-Roman amphitheatre whose remains lie in the Latin Quarter, in the 5th arrondissement. It dates from around the 1st century AD, when the city was the Roman settlement of Lutetia.
