The club is named for a river you cannot see. The Garrison at 1197 Dundas Street West in Toronto opened on October 1, 2009 with a sold-out Glass Candy show, founded by Shaun Bowring and named for Garrison Creek, the buried waterway that runs beneath the neighborhood - a nod sealed, by his own admission, when the craft-beer nerd in him learned Toronto's first breweries drew from the same creek.
