Built in 1906 as the Walker Theatre and designed by Howard C. Stone in the Beaux-Arts style, the Burton Cummings Theatre at 364 Smith Street in downtown Winnipeg is one of the finest surviving examples of grand early-20th-century theatre architecture in western Canada.
