At the eastern end of Princes Street, this volcanic hill rises 103 metres above sea level and offers what many consider the defining panoramic view of Edinburgh: the castle, Arthur's Seat, the Firth of Forth, and the ordered geometry of the New Town all visible in a single sweep.
