The Glove That Fits is an intimate music and arts venue, bar and creative space in Hackney, east London, on Morning Lane. Run by the team behind the celebrated club FOLD, it pairs a sizeable street-level bar with an iconic basement room known for hosting some of the best names in electronic music. Opened in 2019, the venue was conceived as a multi-purpose environment for musical and artistic expression across a wide range of disciplines. Its programme runs from curated DJ residencies and live music to interactive installations, music workshops, talks and panels. The basement is the heart of the operation, a low-ceilinged, loud room where the crowd can get very close to the decks, ideal for a full, sweaty night. A bespoke sound system and fully equipped DJ setup support a programme of underground electronic music and a community of regulars. Upstairs, the bar serves craft beer, custom cocktails and other drinks, while in summer the venue opens its adjoining courtyard, Gloves Off, for street food and day parties. Together the indoor and outdoor spaces give it flexibility for everything from club nights to film shoots and brand events. With a capacity of up to around 150, the venue keeps an intimate scale that suits both emerging and established artists. Its Hackney Central location places it among the bars, venues and creative spaces that have made east London a hub for nightlife. Sharing its lineage with one of London's most respected clubs, the Glove That Fits combines serious musical credentials with a friendly, community feel. Its mix of a welcoming bar, a characterful basement and a summer courtyard has made it a distinctive fixture of the area's scene. By pairing a relaxed neighbourhood bar with a serious underground programme, the venue has helped extend east London's reputation for independent, music-driven nightlife further into Hackney Central.
