Converted from a disused factory on the boundary of Notts County's Meadow Lane stadium, The Nest is a flexible indoor and outdoor events space on Iremonger Road, a short walk from Nottingham's railway station. It opened in June 2024 as a fanzone and multi-purpose venue. Run in partnership with Notts County FC, the venue was created to host live sport screenings on what is billed as the city's largest indoor screen, debuting around the Euro 2024 tournament with free test events and quickly establishing a regular programme. Beyond sport, its modular main floor adapts to a wide range of uses, from live music and street-food festivals to corporate events and immersive experiences, with a stated capacity of up to around 1,500 guests across its spaces. The interior pairs industrial character with modern production, featuring three bars, a mezzanine overlooking the main floor and a state-of-the-art sound and lighting system, while a courtyard adds open-air space in warmer months. Food comes from a rotating line-up of regional street-food traders rather than a fixed kitchen, and the bar carries a broad selection of beers, wines, spirits and low- and no-alcohol options, reflecting the venue's family- and event-friendly aims. Since opening it has positioned itself as one of Nottingham's more versatile large spaces, hosting fan zones, festivals and gatherings that draw on both the football club's following and the wider city, with free parking nearby in the stadium's car park. Football clubs across the country have increasingly looked to diversify their revenue and deepen ties with supporters by developing year-round leisure spaces, and The Nest is a clear example of that trend. By converting a derelict factory beside Meadow Lane into a flexible events venue, Notts County created an asset that works on match days and far beyond them. Its rapid emergence as a host for festivals, fan zones and live music suggests there was real appetite in Nottingham for a large, adaptable space of this kind.
