On the edge of the great entertainment city rising southwest of Riyadh, Aquarabia is the largest water theme park in the Middle East. Opened in 2026, it offers a vast array of rides and pools spread across a series of themed zones. The park covers a huge site of around a quarter of a million square metres, making it among the biggest of its kind anywhere. It forms part of a sprawling new leisure and sports destination. It opened in the spring of 2026 as the second great attraction of the new city, following a major dry theme park that had opened a few months before. Together they form a two-park core. The park is laid out in eight themed zones, each drawing its look from the wildlife, oases and desert landscapes of the country. The theming runs throughout the grounds. It boasts more than twenty rides and experiences, among them several that lay claim to world records for their height and length. Thrill seekers are well served. Its signature rides include a towering water coaster billed as the tallest and longest of its type, and other gravity-defying slides for the brave. They are the talk of the park. For those seeking gentler pleasures there are wave pools, lazy rivers and shaded spots to relax, along with a number of dry rides. There is something for every age and nerve. A surf lagoon offers the chance to ride artificial waves, available as a special experience beyond the general entry. It draws those keen to try the sport. Luxury cabanas can be hired for those who wish to make a day of it in comfort, set around the pools and attractions. They offer a more private base. The park has been built with an eye to the desert climate, using recycled water for cooling and irrigation to limit waste. Sustainability is part of its design. It opens in the afternoon and runs into the evening, with certain days set aside for women and children, served by all-female staff. The hours suit the warm climate. It lies in the new entertainment city, some distance southwest of the centre of Riyadh, reached by road from the capital. Ample facilities serve the many visitors. For families and thrill seekers it is among the leading new attractions in the country.
