Bronshoj got a new gathering point when BROK opened its doors by Bronshoj Torv - a municipal culture house at Bronshojvej 3 run by the City of Copenhagen's culture and leisure administration, replacing the neighbourhood's long-serving Kulturhuset Pilegaarden. The name and the motto - "we are together about BROK" - signal the ambition: culture created with the locals, not just served to them, across generations. The house programme mixes concerts, theatre, talks, workshops, flea markets, children's culture and community dining, much of it co-created with local associations and residents. The biggest room, Plenum on the first floor, is a purpose-designed multi-venue tuned by an acoustician and sound engineer, seating around 100 (expandable by 20) for lectures, plays and concerts in an intimate blue-green setting. Beyond Plenum, rooms of all sizes - including the small Nabolaget meeting room for a dozen people - can be booked by citizens and groups through the municipal bookbyen.dk system, and the in-house cafe and eatery Spisehuset BROK handles catering for meetings and private events. Together with the nearby Bronshoj Water Tower and the old village square, the house anchors the cultural life of Copenhagen's 2700 district.
