Reba McEntire opened UCF's arena before the basketball teams did. Addition Financial Arena at 12777 Gemini Boulevard North, in the Knights Plaza athletics village on the University of Central Florida campus, opened on 8 September 2007 with a country concert - the Knights' volleyball and basketball programs moved in that autumn, doubling the capacity of the original 1991 arena next door, which survives as the Venue at UCF practice facility. The 252,000-square-foot building seats 9,400-9,465 for basketball and up to roughly 10,000 for concerts and combat sports, with about 7,000 seats in the lower bowl, 3,000 upstairs, luxury suites, club seating behind the Black and Gold Club and a courtside club added along one baseline. The all-time record crowd of 10,011 stormed the court after the 2017 NIT quarterfinal against Illinois; the second sellout - and second court-storming - came when UCF beat third-ranked Kansas in its 2024 Big 12 home opener. Managed by Oak View Group for the university, the arena carries greater Orlando's campus-side event load: touring concerts, family shows, musical theatre, high-school graduations and UCF's Knight-Thon dance marathon for Children's Miracle Network. Former names - UCF Arena, then CFE Arena - gave way to the Addition Financial credit union's branding in 2019, and the Lynx bus network's UCF Transit Center keeps the campus location reachable without a parking pass. The building's concert history runs from its Reba McEntire opener through touring rock, hip-hop, Latin and Christian music bookings, plus WWE events, e-sports and the constant churn of ceremonies a 70,000-student university generates. Knights Plaza around the arena adds restaurants and the campus bookstore for pre-event hours, and the venue's position at the corner of the athletics village - directly beside the football stadium - lets UCF run basketball-football doubleheader Saturdays that keep the precinct full from noon to midnight.
