The resort took sixteen years to open; the nightclub needed one phone call. When Jeffrey Soffer reclaimed the long-stalled Fontainebleau Las Vegas project, he called David Grutman - whose LIV in Miami Beach had spent a decade among the world's highest-grossing clubs - and told him not to sign with any other Strip resort. LIV Las Vegas opened with the 3.7-billion-dollar resort at 2777 South Las Vegas Boulevard on 13 December 2023. The design brief was a stadium: David Rockwell's team built the room in concentric rings around a central DJ booth, with a custom kinetic video structure of articulating panels overhead and a Funktion-One sound system, so that general-admission guests stand in the middle of the action rather than behind the tables. Capacity was capped near 2,000 - half the Strip megaclub standard - with 62 tables and the closest reserving for five figures. A 2024-25 renovation at "an eight-figure cost" merged the club with the adjacent LIV Beach dayclub into a single 80,000-square-foot indoor-outdoor complex: the stage dropped, the dance floor grew, GA now enters through the second level while VIPs walk in at field level from the pool deck, and the bungalow-lined beach club serves as overflow when the night spills outside. The booking roster reads like the genre's upper house - John Summit was the inaugural resident, with Tiesto, Dom Dolla, Metro Boomin, Kygo, Gorgon City and Knock2 among the residency names across its first seasons. The north-Strip address near the convention centre gives LIV a different crowd chemistry from the mid-Strip megaclubs: more locals, more music-first visitors, fewer bachelor-party wanderers. Practical notes are standard high-end Vegas: 21 and over with ID, Friday-through-Sunday core nights plus festival-week specials, dress codes enforced, and tickets or table reservations booked ahead for marquee residents. The resort above it - all Miami curves and gold accents - makes the pre-club hours part of the show.
