The quieter half of one of Texas's busiest event campuses, the Freeman Expo Halls supply the square footage that the historic coliseum next door cannot. Located at 3201 East Houston Street on the Bexar County Community Arenas grounds - shared with the 1949 Freeman Coliseum and the Spurs' Frost Bank Center - the expo complex was built in 2007 to bring larger and more diverse trade events to San Antonio. The inventory is straightforward and flexible: four climate-controlled halls totalling about 170,000 square feet. Hall C is the largest at 67,500 square feet with slim I-beam columns; Hall B offers 65,000 column-free square feet for unobstructed sightlines; Hall A adds just under 27,000 square feet with a built-in office and concessions; and Hall 2, at 38,800 square feet behind the coliseum, gives events an exclusive stand-alone feel. The Legends Room handles smaller banquets and meetings. The calendar reads like a cross-section of the city: car shows, comic and anime conventions, gun and trade shows, quinceaneras and galas, cheer competitions, job fairs, holiday markets and concert productions rotate through year-round, with the halls also absorbing the massive footprint of the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo each February, when the whole campus becomes one connected festival ground. For organisers the appeal is practical: county-owned pricing, polished-concrete durability, high ceilings, drive-in loading and the campus's roughly 10,000 parking spaces, plus the option to pair a hall with the coliseum arena for events needing both exhibit space and seated capacity - a combination few Texas venues can match at this price point. Visitors should note the location off Interstate 35 at Houston Street, ten minutes east of downtown, with parking fees on event days and food service varying by show. Event details, dates and hall assignments are published per event by promoters and the Freeman Coliseum calendar.
