The venue has been operating continuously since around 2008 and provides one of the principal continuing daily professional fado concert experiences in the central historic district, with the standard fifty-minute concerts running daily Monday through Saturday throughout the year. The venue is housed in the historic Cine-Teatro Gymnasio building on Rua da Misericordia 14, immediately adjacent to the famous Largo do Chiado square in the historic central commercial and cultural Chiado district.
