The ballpark opened on 5 June 2012 as the centrepiece of a waterfront revitalisation project and replaced the ageing CanWest Global Park (now demolished). The stadium features natural grass, a covered grandstand behind home plate, open-air seating along the baselines, suite and club-level options, and a signature right-field party deck. Views from the upper concourse take in the Red River, the Esplanade Riel pedestrian bridge, and the Forks National Historic Site.
