Nestled within the 100-acre Red Butte Garden and Arboretum on the foothills of the Wasatch Range, the Red Butte Garden Amphitheatre at 2188 Red Butte Canyon Road in Salt Lake City is a 3,000-capacity outdoor concert venue known for its intimate setting and stunning natural surroundings. The amphitheatre hosts the annual Outdoor Concert Series featuring 25 to 30 renowned artists each summer across rock, folk, jazz, country, and other genres. The venue is a first-come, first-served general admission space with lawn seating -- concertgoers bring their own blankets or low-back chairs. With over 13,000 garden members competing for tickets, many shows sell out quickly, sometimes in less than 10 minutes during the member presale. The amphitheatre also hosts outdoor film screenings in partnership with the Sundance Institute and Teton Gravity Research Films, as well as the annual spring and fall plant sales. The venue's location on the University of Utah campus offers views of the Wasatch Mountains and the Salt Lake Valley, making sunset performances particularly memorable. An ADA accessible gate is located near the Donor Gate entrance. Red Butte Garden's mission is to connect people with the beauty and importance of plants, and the concert series supports that mission by drawing hundreds of thousands of visitors to the garden annually.
