Waterside District is a waterfront entertainment complex at 333 Waterside Drive in downtown Norfolk, Virginia, along the Elizabeth River. Originally opened in 1983 as the Waterside Festival Marketplace, the facility was closed in 2014 and reopened on May 11, 2017, following a forty-million-dollar overhaul by The Cordish Companies. The reimagined complex features The Market, a 30,000-square-foot food hall with local and regional restaurants, alongside national tenants including Guy Fieri's Smokehouse, Blue Moon TapHouse, and PBR Norfolk. Waterside District hosts year-round live entertainment including weekend concert series, festivals, sports-watch events, EDM nights, and private events for up to 6,000 guests. The waterfront setting provides outdoor performance and dining space with views of the Elizabeth River and the Norfolk skyline, and a free people-mover service called F.R.E.D. connects the district to other downtown parking and attractions.
