The Dome is an independent multi-space live music venue in the heart of Tufnell Park, North London, forming part of the connecting Boston Arms pub on the corner of Dartmouth Park Hill and Junction Road. Housed in a historic, Grade II listed Victorian building dating from the 1880s, it has been a cornerstone of the North London live music scene since reopening as a music venue in 1981, with a legacy now spanning more than four decades. The building itself has a colourful past, having previously served as Stanley Hall and Baths, an electric theatre, a cinema and a palais, among other uses, before finding its current calling. Today it offers two distinct performance spaces: the iconic high-ceilinged main room upstairs with a 600 capacity for bigger acts and crowds, and a 300-capacity space downstairs, formerly the Boston Music Room and now known as Downstairs at the Dome, for more intimate performances. Over the years the venue has hosted a remarkably diverse roster of artists, from Blur, Coldplay, Primal Scream and Noel Gallagher to Florence and the Machine, Fontaines D.C., Enter Shikari and countless rising names. This breadth reflects its commitment to championing alternative live music across rock, metal, indie and pop, and to nurturing emerging talent alongside established acts. Independently owned and operated, the Dome has retained its unique character and charm while undergoing continuous upgrades, maturing into a state-of-the-art home for live music that marries high-quality production with an intimate, underground atmosphere. In 2023 it featured in the American Express Unsigned initiative supporting grassroots venues, prompting a brand refresh and the renaming of its downstairs room. By combining a storied heritage building, two flexible performance spaces and a passion for live music, the Dome has cemented its place as one of North London's premier independent venues. Its dedication to fostering a vibrant community of artists and music lovers ensures it remains a vital fixture on the city's gig circuit.
