The Prospect Building is a large-scale, industrial-inspired live music and cultural venue on Feeder Road in the St Philips area of Bristol, a short distance from Temple Meads station on the banks of the River Avon. Opened on 28 September 2024 in a 25,000 square foot former warehouse previously known as Propyard, it was launched by the electronic music promoter A Man About A Dog as the company's first venue acquisition, with ambitions to fill a significant gap in the city's live music provision. The venue is built around two custom-designed performance spaces. The Main Room is one of the highest-capacity single rooms in Bristol, holding more than three thousand people and equipped with a bespoke L-Acoustics sound system, advanced lighting, immersive video and laser-mapping technology. Adjacent to it sits Crane, a versatile, naturally lit space defined by its towering Morris cranes, with a standing capacity of up to 1,350 or around five hundred seated, plus an expansive outdoor courtyard for the summer months. Music has been central to the venue from the outset, with an opening programme led by electronic acts including Overmono, Bonobo, Andy C, Joy Orbison, Floating Points and Dax J, in partnership with local promoters. The operators have set out to expand from club-focused electronic events into a full live music offering across genres, positioning both rooms as competitively run spaces aimed at supporting promoters, touring artists and local performers. True to its billing as a cultural hub, the building hosts far more than gigs and club nights. Since opening it has staged family-focused experiences, food festivals, fashion shows, art exhibitions, product launches, conferences, community circus events and performances by local dance groups, with its flexible spaces and large courtyard transforming to suit each occasion throughout the year. By combining a flagship large-capacity room, a flexible mid-sized space and a generous outdoor area within a striking industrial setting, the Prospect Building has quickly established itself as a significant addition to Bristol's events landscape. Its blend of high-quality production, broad programming and genuine multi-purpose flexibility makes it a versatile destination for music and culture across the city.
