Its flagship Shoreditch venue, on Curtain Road, surrounds a vast pit with mirrored walls and tens of thousands of LED lights, creating a surreal, neon-lit playground that has been named by Time Out as London's best activity bar. The concept pairs that spectacle with a serious drinks operation. Flair bartenders mix an award-winning list of cocktails, from nostalgic twists on classics to the venue's own signatures, while a kitchen turns out homemade Neapolitan-style pizzas. Beyond casual drop-ins, Ballie Ballerson is geared towards groups and celebrations. Entry is strictly for over-18s, with identification required, and the smart-casual dress code suggests secure, flat footwear suited to the pits. Set in the heart of trend-conscious Shoreditch and close to several Underground and Overground stations, the venue has become one of East London's best-known novelty nights out. The Shoreditch site is the original and best known of the brand's venues, and retains its claim to operate the world's largest permanent ball pit. Cloakroom facilities are available for a small fee, and the venue is reached easily from the Old Street, Liverpool Street and Shoreditch High Street stations that ring the neighbourhood.
