Spread across two floors and around 10,000 square feet, Box Brindleyplace is a large sports bar and kitchen on the waterside in central Birmingham. Opened in June 2023 in a former Pizza Express unit at The Water's Edge, it was built around the idea of combining watching, playing and partying under one roof, and can hold up to roughly 575 guests. Sport is the headline draw, with more than thirty high-definition screens throughout the venue showing live coverage from Sky, TNT and box-office events, complete with commentary on key fixtures. An impressive open kitchen and an island bar anchor the ground floor, serving a menu of pizzas, burgers, kebabs and salads with vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options alongside a long drinks list. Beyond the screens, the venue leans into games and entertainment, offering shuffleboard tables, darts and a private karaoke room. It is more than a sports bar in the evenings, hosting live music in the form of its Bandeoke nights, where guests take the stage backed by a live band, typically across Thursday to Saturday. Operated by the team behind the Manahatta brand, Box positions itself as a premium, high-quality offering rather than a basic pub, and trades late into the night at weekends. It is available for corporate events and private hire, and its mix of food, sport and activities is aimed at groups looking for a single venue to spend a whole day or night. Sitting within Brindleyplace, one of the city's main dining and leisure quarters beside the canal, the bar joins a cluster of established venues at The Water's Edge. Its scale and the breadth of its watch-play-party formula have made it a prominent addition to Birmingham's social scene. The venue can be hired in full or in part for corporate functions, parties and group bookings, with food, drink and game packages tailored to the occasion. Late weekend trading and a steady calendar of events have helped it establish itself quickly among the canalside venues that draw crowds into Birmingham's city centre.
