Split between an Eighties room and a Nineties room, Club Tropicana and Venga is a retro-themed nightclub on Renfield Street in central Glasgow, less than a minute's walk from Glasgow Central station. Born out of a love for all things throwback, it bills itself as the city's original and best nostalgia venue, packing two themed rooms with a combined capacity of around eight hundred clubbers every weekend. The Tropicana room is dedicated to Eighties anthems, running from Spandau Ballet and ABBA to Madness, Madonna, Prince and Queen amid neon decor and era-specific memorabilia. Through in Venga, the focus shifts to the Nineties, mixing cheesy throwback pop with iconic dance bangers under lasers, psychedelic lighting and heavy bass, so guests can move between two distinct decades across a single night. The atmosphere leans into immersive, time-warp theming, with bright neon, slushie cocktails and premium drinks packages aimed at groups. It is a popular choice for stag and hen parties, birthdays and work nights out, and the layout is designed to keep the crowd flowing easily between the two rooms and their bars. Beyond its weekend club nights, the venue runs daytime "day disco" events, billed as Disco Days versus Dance Days, letting revellers dance the afternoon away to Seventies, Eighties and Nineties tunes and still be home early. These daytime sessions have become a signature of the operation, broadening its appeal beyond the late-night crowd. Open principally on Friday and Saturday nights from the evening until three in the morning, with occasional bank-holiday Sunday sessions, the club trades on its central, easily reached location and its single-minded focus on retro pop and dance. Its blend of nostalgia, theming and group-friendly packages has made it a recognisable fixture of Glasgow's nightlife.
