Spread across three floors of a building on Braunstone Gate, in Leicester's lively West End, Eden is a nightclub and event space that trades late into the early hours seven days a week. Formerly known as Boxed, it reopened under the Eden name as a flexible, multi-room venue geared towards club nights, private parties and live events. Music sits at the centre of the operation, with a powerful sound system driving a programme that ranges across drum and bass, jungle, garage and house, alongside themed nights such as seventies and eighties discos with tribute acts. The varied booking policy draws a mix of local promoters and touring DJs, giving the venue a busy and eclectic calendar. With a capacity of around three hundred to three hundred and fifty, the three floors can be used together for larger events or split for more intimate gatherings, and the venue makes a particular feature of private hire. Birthdays, engagements and works parties are catered for alongside its public club nights, with a bar stocking more than a hundred drinks and a VIP section. The multi-level layout allows different styles and crowds to coexist on the same night, while the late licence keeps sessions running well past the point at which many city-centre bars close. Entry is generally for over-eighteens, with identification required, in line with its role as a dedicated late-night club. Braunstone Gate is one of Leicester's densest clusters of independent bars and music venues, and Eden sits among neighbours such as Sally Cinnamon's and the 2Funky complex. Its combination of a three-floor club, strong sound and a flexible hire offer has made it a recognisable fixture of the area's nightlife. The Braunstone Gate strip, just across the river from the city centre and close to De Montfort University, has long been a hub of student and independent nightlife, and Eden draws heavily on that passing trade. Its willingness to host promoters across a wide range of genres, from drum and bass crews to retro disco nights, has helped it build a varied and loyal following.
