A compact, intimate showroom within the Miracle Mile Shops at the Planet Hollywood resort, the Saxe Theater is one of the cosier production-show venues on the Las Vegas Strip. Designed for the kind of close-up entertainment that thrives in a smaller room, the theatre has hosted a rotating lineup of magic, comedy, variety and other resident shows, offering an alternative to the giant production rooms for which the Strip is famous. The theatre is a modern, tiered showroom seating a few hundred people, with comfortable seating arranged so that the audience is always close to the stage. Its intimate scale is central to its appeal, suiting the magic, illusion and comedy acts that depend on a tight connection with the crowd, and its contemporary fit-out provides the lighting and sound needed for slick, professional productions. Programming centres on resident and limited-run shows, particularly magic and variety acts that play multiple performances a week, alongside comedy and other entertainment suited to its scale. The theatre's flexible setup and its location within a busy shopping and dining complex make it well suited to the kind of evening shows that visitors fold into a wider night out on the Strip. Its location within the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood places it in the very heart of the Las Vegas Strip, surrounded by the resort's casino, restaurants and the shopping mall's many outlets, and within easy reach of the Strip's other attractions. That central setting makes the theatre easy to reach and a convenient addition to a visit to the resort. By providing an intimate showroom for close-up entertainment in the middle of the Strip, the Saxe Theater fills a distinctive niche in the Las Vegas scene. Its blend of a small, modern room, magic-and-variety programming and a prime resort location keeps it a convenient destination for a show in the city.
