Within the broader Yas Island entertainment district along the central western coastline of Yas Island just east of central Abu Dhabi, Island of Legends is a substantial indoor adventure-and-entertainment complex that brings together a collection of themed adventure activities, immersive entertainment experiences and family-friendly attractions in a single integrated indoor venue. The 60,000-square-foot complex opened in December 2018 as part of the broader Yas Island family-entertainment programme, occupying a dedicated section of the broader Yas Mall complex. The complex is organised around a sequence of distinct themed adventure zones, each focused on a different category of physical activity or immersive entertainment. The principal central adventure zone houses a substantial indoor obstacle-course environment combining traditional climbing walls, suspended walking bridges, balance challenges and several free-fall jumping platforms in a single integrated multi-level overhead course. The dedicated climbing zone houses several substantial indoor climbing walls reaching heights of 12 metres, with both top-rope-belayed and auto-belay configurations accommodating climbers of all experience levels. The bouldering section provides shorter walls with thick mat padding for beginners and casual climbers. The trampoline park section provides a substantial dedicated trampoline-and-foam-pit zone with more than 50 individual interconnected trampolines arranged in a wall-to-wall grid configuration. The integrated foam-pit section accommodates safe practice of acrobatic manoeuvres including front flips, back flips and various aerial twists. The interactive entertainment section houses several augmented-reality and virtual-reality experiences including several multi-player VR battle simulations, several immersive escape-room environments and several traditional arcade-game stations. The complex also includes a substantial children's adventure zone for younger visitors, a multi-level soft-play area, several party-room spaces available for children's birthday parties and the on-site Legends Cafe serving substantial meals and refreshments. The complex operates seven days a week with extended weekend evening hours, with day-pass pricing providing unlimited access to all activities and individual single-activity tickets also available for visitors interested in only specific attractions.
