Pearls Kingdom Waterpark opened in mid-2024 along Al Khalidia Street in Abu Dhabi, occupying a 25,000 square metre site themed around the historic pearl diving heritage of the Trucial Coast that sustained the region's economy for centuries before the discovery of oil. The park is operated by Tilal Liwa Hospitality Group and forms part of a wider family entertainment district that includes a hotel, retail concourse and outdoor amphitheatre. Themed zones recreate stylised versions of an Emirati pearling dhow, an oyster harvesting reef and the souk where pearls were traded. The Pearl Diver flume coaster launches riders down a series of curving water slides ending in a splashdown pool decorated with oversized fibreglass oyster shells. The Dhow Wreck wave pool generates progressive surf waves at half-hour intervals, with a sandy artificial beach edge equipped with cabanas, loungers and food kiosks. A 1,200 metre lazy river encircles the park, passing through tunnels themed as underwater caves with audio narration of pearl diving lore in both Arabic and English. The Mermaid Lagoon caters to younger children with shallow pools, fountains, a pirate ship play structure and gentle slides under the supervision of certified lifeguards. Adult-only thrill attractions include the Black Pearl free-fall trapdoor slide that reaches 60 kilometres per hour, the Shark Tank tube ride into a clear acrylic tunnel surrounded by live reef sharks viewable from below, and the Tornado vortex slide. Food and beverage outlets serve Emirati specialities including machbous, harees and luqaimat alongside international fast food. The park operates daily from ten in the morning until eight in the evening with extended weekend hours, and admission tickets are sold per day or as multi-visit annual passes through the website. Lockers, towel rental, sun cream stations and a poolside medical office complete the visitor amenities throughout the year. Cabana rentals upgrade the standard ticket with shaded private seating, dedicated waiter service and complimentary water bottles. The educational pearl diving heritage zone offers daily demonstrations of historic free-diving techniques, displays of antique nose-clips and rope baskets used by dhow crews of the early twentieth century, and storytelling sessions tracing the trade routes that once connected the Trucial Coast to Mumbai and London markets.
