- Recognised as one of the most influential and celebrated labels in the history of jazz, Blue Note Records has defined generations of recorded sound. On International Jazz Day, Dubai Opera and MacGlobal co-present an evening dedicated to that enduring catalogue.   Peter Long, known for his leadership at Ronnie Scott’s, directs the programme with his sextet featuring Sara Oschlag, joined by an ensemble of international jazz musicians.   In collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute of Abu Dhabi, Francesco Cafiso Duo joins the evening as guest. Cafiso is an award-winning Italian saxophonist who gained international recognition after winning a jazz competition at the age of 11.   Spanning hard bop to modal jazz, the repertoire references artists associated with Blue Note’s history, including John Coltrane, Miles Davis and Herbie Hancock, acknowledging the label’s continued presence in contemporary jazz.   Reserve your seat for this International Jazz Day performance at Dubai Opera.
