In the busy ground-floor retail level of the JBR The Walk pedestrian promenade in the Jumeirah Beach Residence neighbourhood of Dubai, 3D Blacklight Minigolf Dubai is one of the most popular indoor family-entertainment venues in the broader Dubai Marina district. The 5,000-square-foot venue opened in November 2017 as the first dedicated indoor blacklight miniature golf facility in the United Arab Emirates, capitalising on the rapidly growing demand for indoor family-entertainment venues in the Emirate's exceptionally hot summer climate. The venue is built around two 18-hole indoor miniature golf courses, each painted throughout in vivid fluorescent paints that glow brilliantly under the venue's extensive ultraviolet lighting. Visitors are issued small 3D glasses on entry that combine red-and-cyan stereoscopic lenses with anti-glare coatings, with the resulting visual experience producing the impression that the fluorescent painted features of each course are floating in three dimensions above the playing surfaces. The two courses are themed to different visual environments. The first course is themed to a fantasy underwater environment, with brightly painted murals depicting coral reefs, tropical fish, sunken pirate ships, sea monsters and treasure chests covering every available wall, ceiling and floor surface. The second course is themed to an outer-space environment, with murals depicting alien planets, spacecraft, distant galaxies, alien creatures and futuristic space cities. Each course follows the standard miniature golf format, with 18 individual holes ranging in complexity from straightforward straight-line putts to elaborate multi-section holes featuring ramps, bridges, tunnels, water hazards (simulated with painted blue features) and various small mechanical obstacles. The courses are designed to be playable by visitors of all ages and skill levels, with the typical 18-hole round taking around 45 minutes to an hour for a small group. The venue also includes a small refreshment bar serving soft drinks, ice cream and light snacks, a small arcade with several classic-arcade games, a small party-room area available for children's birthday parties and a small retail counter selling fluorescent-themed branded merchandise. The venue operates seven days a week, with extended evening hours on weekends. Tickets are sold on a per-round basis, with discounted pricing for advance online booking and family-pack pricing for groups of four or more visitors.
