In the heart of the historic Mushrif Park about 30 minutes south-east of central Dubai, Aventura Parks is the largest outdoor zip-line and aerial-adventure park in the United Arab Emirates and the largest in the broader Gulf Cooperation Council region. The park opened in November 2016 in a dedicated 35,000-square-metre section of the broader 1,500-acre Mushrif Park, occupying a mature stand of ghaf and acacia trees that provides natural shading and structural anchorage for the elaborate overhead adventure course network. The park is organised around five separate aerial-adventure circuits arranged at different difficulty levels and accessible by a single combined day-pass admission. The introductory Caracal circuit (named for the small native Arabian wildcat) is the easiest of the five and serves as the orientation course for first-time visitors and younger guests. The intermediate Aana, Falcon and Jeylan circuits provide progressively more difficult challenges. The most demanding Hattan circuit is reserved for experienced adventure-park guests and includes the dramatic 1,200-metre Long Ride zipline, the longest zipline in the United Arab Emirates and one of the longest in the broader Middle East region. Each circuit consists of approximately 30 to 60 individual aerial elements suspended at heights of 4 to 18 metres above the ground. The individual elements include monkey bars, suspended walking bridges, swinging beams, hanging tyre walks, balance beams, climbing nets and the popular Tarzan rope swings. Each circuit terminates in one or more individual zipline descents to the ground. The park's safety system uses the proprietary continuous-attachment Saferoller system, which keeps each visitor's carabiners continuously attached to a single overhead safety cable throughout the entire circuit. The system eliminates the possibility of accidentally detaching from the safety system during the course and is significantly more secure than the older two-carabiner systems used at most older adventure parks. The park also includes a small archery range, a separate paintball arena, an off-road buggy course, a children's playground for younger children and the Aventura Cafe serving substantial meals and refreshments. The park operates seven days a week during the cooler October-through-April season, with reduced operating hours during the hotter summer months.
