On the grounds of the substantial Grand Hyatt Dubai hotel along the southern bank of Dubai Creek in central Dubai immediately south-east of the historic Bur Dubai neighbourhood, the Grand Hyatt Dubai Waterpark is one of the largest hotel-resident water parks in central Dubai and one of the most accessible water-park facilities for visitors based in the central downtown business district. The 32,000-square-metre water park occupies a substantial dedicated section of the broader 37-acre Grand Hyatt Dubai resort grounds, with the central water-park complex surrounded by mature landscaped grounds and lapped on its eastern side by the dramatic Dubai Creek. The water park first opened in 2003 alongside the broader Grand Hyatt Dubai hotel and has been continuously updated through the subsequent years. The water park is operated as part of the broader Grand Hyatt Dubai resort guest amenities, with access included for all resident hotel guests and additional day-pass access available to external visitors throughout the year. The water park houses several distinct attractions arranged across the broader landscaped grounds. The principal central swimming pool, a substantial 25-metre lap pool surrounded by extensive sunbathing terraces and shaded cabanas, serves as the principal adult swimming destination. A separate smaller children's pool, with a maximum depth of 0.5 metres and a continuously circulating gentle current, accommodates younger swimmers. The principal water-park ride section houses three substantial themed water slides. The largest individual slide, the 90-metre Speed Slide, drops from a 12-metre tower through a continuously winding flume to a substantial splash pool at its base. A second 60-metre Twin Tube slide accommodates two parallel riders descending side-by-side in inflatable double tubes. A third 40-metre Children's Slide accommodates younger riders at slower speeds and shallower angles. The principal children's water-play structure, a multi-level interactive water-play castle with continuously activated water jets, includes more than 50 individual interactive water features including jet sprays, dump buckets, tipping pools, water cannons and several small interactive splash pools. A substantial lazy river circumnavigates the central park grounds at a continuous gentle current, providing a relaxing floating tour through the principal landscaped sections of the park.
