Pac-Man Live Experience Dubai opened in late 2024 inside a purpose-built venue along 6A Street in the Al Quoz district, becoming the first permanent immersive attraction worldwide based on the iconic 1980 Bandai Namco arcade game. Developed jointly by Toda Group and Bandai Namco Amusement, the 1,500 square metre venue combines large-scale projection mapping, augmented reality wearables and physical mazes to recreate the original Pac-Man maze at human scale. Visitors begin with a multiplayer interactive briefing where they are assigned roles as either Pac-Man or one of the four coloured ghosts named Blinky, Pinky, Inky and Clyde, before entering the maze itself wearing motion-tracked vests that record their score in real time. Power pellets scattered throughout the maze flip the chase dynamic for fifteen seconds, allowing Pac-Man players to pursue and tag the ghosts for bonus points. Adjacent rooms host bonus levels themed around iconic Pac-Man variants including Ms Pac-Man, Pac-Land and Pac-Man Championship Edition. A retro arcade hall preserves more than thirty original cabinet machines from the early 1980s, including the very first Japanese Puck Man cabinets that predated the Western Pac-Man rebranding. The cafe area serves themed food and drinks including fruit-shaped desserts named after the bonus icons that appeared between maze levels in the original game. A retail area sells exclusive Dubai-edition merchandise, vintage cabinet replicas, plush characters and limited-edition art prints signed by original character designer Toru Iwatani who attended the opening event. The venue caters to corporate team-building events, birthday parties and tournament play, hosting monthly leaderboard competitions with cash prizes. Booking is required for the immersive maze experience while the arcade hall accepts walk-ins at a separate admission rate, operating from one in the afternoon until eleven at night daily throughout the year. The opening drew international media coverage thanks to a celebrity appearance schedule that included Japanese pop culture figures alongside esports champions. Memberships entitle holders to discounted weekday entry, early access to new bonus levels released quarterly, and invitations to private tournament nights with prize pools sponsored by Bandai Namco subsidiaries based across the Asia Pacific region.
