Mega Adventure Park

Adrenaline is the main currency at Mega Adventure Park, a cluster of high-wire thrills strung across the jungle slopes of Imbiah Hill on Sentosa. Its headline ride, the MegaZip, sends harnessed flyers screaming down a four-hundred-and-fifty-metre cable from the hilltop, out over the forest canopy and a beach and down to a small man-made island off Siloso, reaching speeds of around sixty kilometres an hour. The zip line is only the start. The MegaClimb sets out an aerial obstacle course of rope bridges, swinging logs and narrow beams strung between tall eucalyptus trees on several levels, while the MegaJump offers a controlled free-fall plunge from a tower for those who want the sensation of leaping into space with a soft landing guaranteed. Down on the sand, bungee-assisted trampolines let jumpers bounce far higher than they could on their own. Open-sided buggies ferry visitors from the beach counter up to the jungle launch point, and the whole operation is geared to a wide range of ages and nerves, with full harnesses and continuous safety lines throughout. The combination of genuine height, lush scenery and a finish on the beach has made the park a fixture of any thrill-seeking itinerary on the island. Photographs snapped automatically along the zip line wait at the bottom as souvenirs, and the surrounding attractions of Siloso Beach make it easy to fold a session here into a longer day out. The park has built its reputation on a careful balance of genuine thrill and reassuring safety. Participants are fitted with full-body harnesses and clipped to continuous belay systems on the rope course, while the zip line uses a custom trolley that riders cannot detach mid-flight, and staff brief and check each guest before launch. Weight and height limits apply, and the attraction closes the high-wire elements during electrical storms, a frequent occurrence in the tropics. Beyond the headline activities, the hilltop launch area offers sweeping views over Siloso Beach and out to the islands beyond, rewarding even those waiting their turn. The mix of activities lets groups of mixed nerve split between the screaming zip line and the gentler trampolines, and corporate teams use the course for bonding exercises. Cameras mounted along the zip capture each flight automatically, and the finish on a small offshore island, reached by the cable, gives the ride a satisfying sense of arrival.
