The Shipping Forecast is a multi-level bar, restaurant, and music venue at 15 Slater Street in Liverpool's Ropewalks district, in the heart of one of the city's busiest nightlife streets. Its industrial-styled main floor mixes bare-brick walls, vintage signage, and comfortable seating with a craft-focused drinks list and a food menu known for its burgers. The venue is best known for its basement space, wittily named The Hold - an intimate, brick-walled room with its own bar, stage, and DJ booth that hosts live gigs, club nights, comedy, and private events for up to around 180 people. A mezzanine "Top Deck" level is also used for private functions, exhibitions, and screenings, and a top-floor print shop has sold gig posters and artwork. Popular with students, creatives, and music fans, The Shipping Forecast has built a reputation for eclectic programming and for being the venue where the Bongo's Bingo phenomenon first took off.
