Combining a ground-floor record store with a four-hundred-capacity basement live venue, Jacaranda Baltic sits within the Cains Brewery Village in Liverpool's Baltic Triangle. Opened in January 2024 as a successor to the much-loved Phase One, it continues a long Liverpool tradition of blending vinyl retail with live music under the historic Jacaranda name, a brand whose original Slater Street club is associated with the early days of the Beatles. The venue has quickly become a cornerstone of the city's grassroots scene. The Jacaranda story stretches back decades, but its modern record-store-and-venue concept was honed at Phase One on Seel Street, which ran for five years before closing on New Year's Eve in 2023. The team relaunched days later in a far larger home in the Baltic Triangle, an up-and-coming creative quarter, describing the move as the evolution the brand deserved and an opportunity to do much more for both fans and artists. The heart of the operation is the basement performance space, which holds around four hundred people and is geared towards intimate gigs, album launches and exclusive shows. Despite its modest size, it has hosted an impressive run of major names, including the Libertines, Kaiser Chiefs, the Kooks, Blossoms, Pixie Lott, Dizzee Rascal and Tom Odell, while also providing a platform for emerging and unsigned local talent. Upstairs, the ground-floor record store is open from Thursday to Sunday and offers a curated selection of vinyl for collectors of all levels. By pairing the shop with the venue, Jacaranda Baltic creates a space where browsing records and discovering live music sit side by side, and where the two activities feed into one another in a way that reflects the brand's long-standing identity. In its first year the venue marked its hundredth live show, underlining how rapidly it has established itself. Rooted in the Baltic Triangle and committed to bringing both headline acts and independent artists to the city, Jacaranda Baltic has reinforced Liverpool's reputation as a music city and given the area a vibrant, vinyl-fuelled home for live performance.
