Opened in September 2023 across five interconnected spaces on Lower Trinity Street, XOYO Birmingham brought the renowned London club brand to Digbeth, a district long known for its nightlife. Stretching across three adjoining sites, the modular, multi-room venue was built with a total capacity approaching 3,000, making it one of the largest and most versatile clubs in the Midlands. The five spaces each have their own identity. The main room, simply called XOYO, is joined by an audio-visual room and an industrial space known as the Factory, while two open-air areas, the Roof Garden and the Yard, extend the footprint outdoors. The layout lets promoters run several rooms and styles at once under one roof, from intimate sets to full-capacity nights. A creative refurbishment costing more than half a million pounds equipped the venue with cutting-edge production, and its programme centres on electronic music alongside live events. The club launched with a double-header of opening parties featuring names such as Fabio and Grooverider and a roster of regional talent, and quickly added weekly club nights to its calendar. From the outset the venue placed emphasis on providing a safe and inclusive dancefloor, launching under the slogan that all its crowd wanted to do was dance, a pointed response to the wave of club closures seen across the country. Initially run by a national venue operator, the club has since moved into independent ownership while keeping its focus on quality clubbing. By combining a high capacity, five distinct spaces and a strong electronic focus, XOYO Birmingham has become a major addition to the city's nightlife. Its scale and flexibility allow it to host everything from intimate room takeovers to large-scale weekend club nights in the heart of Digbeth. Its arrival was widely seen as a significant boost for the city's late-night economy.
