One of the principal live-music venues in the Norwegian capital, Sentrum Scene is a sizeable concert hall in the heart of Oslo. Housed in a historic building on Arbeidersamfunnets plass that began life as a workers' assembly hall, the venue has become a key stage for touring and local acts, hosting a steady stream of concerts across many genres in a central, well-connected location. The venue holds around seventeen hundred and fifty people, with a main floor and a balcony arranged to keep audiences close to the stage. Its historic interior, combined with modern sound and lighting, gives the room both character and capability, and its scale places it among the larger dedicated music venues in the city, well suited to the standing concerts that form the core of its programme. Programming is broad, spanning rock, pop, indie, electronic, hip-hop and metal, with Norwegian and international touring artists alongside the country's own rising talent. The hall's size makes it a natural step on the touring ladder, drawing acts that have outgrown the city's smaller clubs as well as established names playing an intimate Oslo date, and it maintains a busy year-round calendar. Its location on Arbeidersamfunnets plass places it in the centre of Oslo, close to the main shopping streets, the railway station and the bars and restaurants of the city centre, and within easy reach of public transport. That central setting makes the venue easy to reach from across the city and a natural part of a night out in the capital. By giving a historic assembly hall a vibrant role as a music venue, Sentrum Scene has become a cornerstone of Oslo's live-music scene. Its blend of a characterful room, broad programming and a central location keeps it a popular destination for concerts in the Norwegian capital.
