Summit Music Hall

The 12,500-square-foot building at 1902 Blake Street has worn many hats in Denver's Lower Downtown. It started as the Blake Street Baseball Club, later became the LoDo Music Hall, and then operated as Club Bash, a hip-hop nightclub that thrived during the early-2000s nightlife boom before closing in 2008. Its life as a concert venue began in 2010, when independent Denver promoter Soda Jerk Presents, led by Mike Barsch, acquired the property, redesigned it and reopened it as Summit. The inaugural show in July 2010 featured local favourites the Rouge, Air Dubai and Honor the Fallen, an appropriately homegrown launch for a room that would become a key step on the city's touring circuit. In February 2018, Live Nation signed a twenty-year lease to handle booking and operations while Soda Jerk retained ownership of the building. Live Nation then closed the venue from June to September that year for a major renovation that improved sight lines, expanded the restrooms and dressing rooms, upgraded the sound system and lifted capacity from around 1,000 to 1,350. A smaller adjoining space, the Moon Room, hosts more intimate shows. Steps from Coors Field and Union Station, Summit fills a vital niche in the Denver ecosystem, a mid-sized hall where emerging acts headline their first big local show and established artists return for intimate underplay dates. Its programming spans punk, metal, indie, hip-hop and electronic, and notable performers over the years have included Imagine Dragons, Garbage, Alkaline Trio and Talib Kweli. On its fifteenth anniversary in 2025 the venue formally adopted the name Summit Music Hall. Inside, the venue runs a state-of-the-art Outline line-source sound system and intelligent LED lighting, and it stages on the order of 150 shows a year. It works in tandem with its nearby sister room, the Marquis Theater, also taken on by Live Nation, and the adjoining Marquis Pizza serves slices on show nights. The smaller Moon Room within Summit hosts more intimate gigs and private events. With three full bars and a layout that lets the crowd choose between pressing to the front or watching from the back, the hall has become one of LoDo's most versatile and well-regarded mid-size spaces, a dependable proving ground a short walk from Coors Field and Union Station.
