Tannahill's Music Hall & Lounge

Fort Worth chef Tim Love converted a historic 1912 mule barn into a music hall and tavern when he opened Tannahill's, named for his son, in the heart of the city's Stockyards in 2022. The venue occupies part of the Horse and Mule Barns of the Mule Alley redevelopment, fireproof brick structures designed by Klipstein and Rathmann that once helped make Fort Worth the largest horse and mule market in the country and are listed on the National Register of Historic Places as part of the Stockyards Historic District. Created as a venture between Love and Live Nation, the venue runs to around 30,000 square feet over two levels and holds up to 1,000 people. The main floor combines a touring-grade stage with a double-sided bar serving both tavern patrons and concertgoers, a restaurant and a merchandise shop, while a mezzanine carries three twenty-seat VIP suites, a raised seating area, a separate lounge and a private bar, all with views of the stage. Extensive kitchen facilities allow the hall to handle pre-show dining, full concert concessions and seated meals for up to 500, making it suitable for weddings, reunions and corporate events as well as gigs. State-of-the-art sound and lighting were installed in close consultation with the Fort Worth Historic and Cultural Landmarks Commission so that modern production sits within the protected fabric of the barn. The opening run in October 2022 set the tone with a lineup that included Ludacris, the Mavericks and Foreigner, and the hall has continued to programme a steady calendar of touring artists across genres. Blending Love's barbecue and oyster-bar cooking with world-class live music inside a restored landmark, Tannahill's has quickly become a distinctive destination in one of Fort Worth's most visited districts. The barns themselves were built in 1912 at a cost of around 300,000 dollars and were among the finest stables in the world, helping make Fort Worth the country's largest horse and mule market and supplying cavalry animals for both world wars before their adaptive reuse. Inside the music hall, five full-service bars are spread through the space, and the restaurant operation, branded around Love's barbecue and oyster bar, runs alongside the gigs. The opening series in late 2022 paired Ludacris, the Mavericks and Foreigner, and the hall has since kept a steady flow of touring artists, anchoring the Mule Alley stretch of the Stockyards as a year-round entertainment draw.
