The CLF Art Lounge is a live-music and arts space in Peckham, south-east London, run by the Chronic Love Foundation, the organisation behind the celebrated CLF Art Cafe in the Bussey Building. Based at Mountview on Peckham Hill Street, it carries the foundation's long-standing mission to champion music and the arts in the area. The Chronic Love Foundation, from which the CLF name comes, was set up in 2003 as a self-funded humanitarian arts and entertainment company. Over more than twenty years it has championed thousands of artists, from grassroots to legendary, predominantly in the SE15 postcode, through venues including the Bussey Building, Rye Wax and the CLF Theatre. The Art Lounge presents a programme spanning live concerts and club nights to spoken word, comedy, film and art exhibitions, exploring everything from jazz and Afrobeat to house, techno, Latin and experimental music. It operates as a standing space with a bar, live and DJ performance and food, and has run as an extensive pop-up ahead of a larger permanent home. That new CLF Art Lounge is planned as a multi-use live-music and arts space with a roof garden offering some of the best views in London, intended to consolidate the foundation's Peckham venues into a single accessible, progressive space. The aim is to create one venue dedicated to championing the finest in music and the arts. The location enjoys strong transport links, with numerous buses stopping outside on Peckham Hill Street and Peckham Rye station a short walk away, offering trains to London Bridge, Victoria, Blackfriars and St Pancras. Its setting beside Mountview and Peckham's library places it at the centre of the area's cultural life. As part of an organisation that helped save and rename the Bussey Building and put Peckham firmly on London's cultural map, the Art Lounge continues a track record of grassroots arts programming. Its blend of music, art and community reflects the CLF's ambition to use the creative arts as a force for positive change.
