A Tuscan wine cave hides in a cellar a hundred metres from Torvehallerne. Vinum Historia at Vendersgade 13, in a charming historic building between Norreport station and the market halls, opened its doors in the early days of COVID-19 and grew against the odds into what its regulars call Copenhagen's coziest wine bar - exposed brick, candlelit tables, moss-covered accent walls and soft light building the hygge the name promises. The offer stays deliberately focused: wines chosen, tasted and vouched for by the owners themselves across reds, whites and bubbles, poured alongside a cocktail list built with Volsted - espresso martinis, whiskey sours, Gin Hass, Dark'n'Stormy - and cold-kitchen boards in the French, Italian and Spanish tradition: fine cheeses, cured meats, olives, nuts, fruit and rustic bread. No hot dishes, no pretension - the charcuterie is there to serve the glass, not compete with it. The cellar is the showpiece: an intimate, Tuscan-inspired underground room - stepping down into Tuscany in the middle of Copenhagen, as the house puts it - reserved for private events, curated tastings and champagne experiences for groups of six and up, with flexible packages of pours and boards making it a favourite for company gatherings and celebrations. Upstairs, tables book ahead for evenings; the location 250 metres from Norreport makes it the natural last stop after Torvehallerne closes, and the welcome - always with a smile, the owners insist - does the rest. The Nansensgade quarter around the corner - Copenhagen's original wine-bar district - gives the address good company, but the house holds its own niche: less natural-wine dogma than the hip end of town, more classic bottles poured with stories, which is exactly the register the name promises.
