Within Blumenthal's six-venue empire - the Belk, the Booth, the Stage Door Theater, plus the Knight Theater and the Spirit Square stages - the Playhouse occupies the sweet spot: professional production values at a scale where every seat reads the performers' faces. Blumenthal's investments in new Broadway work have returned thirteen Tony Awards, and the organization's festivals and education programs keep the Playhouse lit well beyond the touring calendar.
