A 1923 storefront that spent decades as downtown Orlando's nightclub chameleon found its most polished form as Celine. The three-story venue at 22 South Magnolia Avenue sits in the heart of the Downtown Orlando Historic District - the building appears in the National Register paperwork as the old Dixie Theater address - and cycled through club identities including Lyrica and Vain before the team behind the acclaimed Mather's Social Gathering craft-cocktail lounge next door took it over and relaunched it as Celine with a New Year's Eve opening party on 31 December 2017. The layout stacks four experiences vertically: the Main Room's state-of-the-art stage arena with modern audiovisual and lighting rigs and a main-floor dance area; a Speakeasy room wrapped in 360-degree sound for intimate, industrial-chic sessions; a Mezzanine level with VIP tables, a dedicated bar, concierge service and panoramic stage views; and the coveted Rooftop, an open-air bar with downtown skyline views that hosts its own programming and private gatherings. Stated capacity runs to roughly 700 for club configuration and up to 1,000 for full-building events. Programming splits between touring and local: national DJ and hip-hop bookings, R and B and Latin nights, album parties and comedy shows share the calendar with a heavy private-events trade - corporate functions, wedding receptions and conference after-parties drawn by the rare combination of downtown address, multiple self-contained floors and in-house production. The venue's operators position it deliberately as the centrally located, top-tier entertainment complex Orlando's urban core had lacked. The Magnolia Avenue location puts Celine a block off Orange Avenue's bar corridor and steps from the historic Church Street district, with the whole downtown entertainment circuit walkable from its door - a century-old shell hosting the city's newest-money nights, which is downtown Orlando's story in a single address.
