Austin FC's future takes the field seven miles from its stadium, on a pitch beside a pond in a converted tech campus. Parmer Field is the match venue of St. David's Performance Center at 13000 Harris Ridge Boulevard (also addressed as 700 Performance Drive), the 45-million-dollar, privately financed training complex Austin FC opened in early 2021, two weeks before the club's MLS expansion debut. The 23-acre site sits within Parmer Austin - the 300-acre mixed-use innovation campus off Parmer Lane east of I-35 whose neighbours have included 3M, General Motors and The Home Depot - and was designed by Gensler and built by Harvey Cleary after a June 2020 groundbreaking. The complex carries four and a half pitches: three full-sized natural grass fields - two dedicated to the first team and configured as a "super-pitch" - a half-sized grass field, and an artificial surface matching the Q2 Stadium turf so players train on exactly what they play on. The 30,000-square-foot building houses the first team, soccer operations and technical staff with advanced cardio and physio equipment, recovery rooms, water therapy and cryogenics - a facility sporting director Claudio Reyna called world-class on opening day and credited to the ambition of Anthony Precourt's ownership group and partner St. David's HealthCare. Parmer Field itself is the public face: spectator stands seating up to about 1,000 host MLS Next Pro matches for Austin FC II - the reserve side launched in 2023 - plus Austin FC Academy fixtures for the club's high school and middle school teams, all free or low-cost windows into the development pipeline that has already graduated homegrown players to the first team. The setting completes the pitch-to-pint experience: The Pitch, the adjacent food-and-entertainment district at Parmer Pond, wraps match days in restaurants, bars and live music, making the training ground one of north Austin's low-key best afternoons out - professional soccer at academy prices, fifteen minutes up the road from Q2 Stadium.
