The only club in America where the party legally never has to stop was built on two blocks of downtown Miami nobody else wanted. Club Space at 34 Northeast 11th Street opened in March 2000, the vision of Miami native Louis Puig, who spent three months lobbying city commissioners to designate a two-by-two block slice of the derelict Park West district as a 24-hour entertainment zone with round-the-clock liquor licences. New York legend Danny Tenaglia christened the decks at the original 142 NE 11th Street address, introducing downtown Miami to the marathon set; the club moved one block west to its current building in 2004, briefly trading as Space 34 to mark the shift. The signature is the Terrace, the upper-level floor where the biggest names in electronic music play eight, twelve and twenty-hour sets as the sun rises over downtown - originally open air, now sheltered by a transparent retractable roof that keeps the morning light while fending off the weather. Early Ibiza-style patio parties with hay bales, popsicles and sunglasses giveaways taught dark-room clubbers to dance into daylight, and marathon specialists from Marco Carola to Loco Dice built the tradition Tenaglia started into the club's identity. Puig sold in 2013, and Club Space is now owned and operated by the Link Miami Rebels trio of David Sinopoli, Coloma Kaboomsky and Davide Danese, who run roughly 600 events a year across the building's three rooms and around 2,000 capacity. Miami Music Week brings the flagship stunt: continuous 48-hour parties where the music genuinely never stops, and a 2024 renovation soundproofed the building against its gentrifying neighbours while preserving the skylight that lets the Terrace watch the dawn. Twenty-five years in, the club anchors the 11th Street district it effectively created - the reason Park West became Miami's club quarter, and the American room most often mentioned alongside the great after-hours institutions of Europe.
