Geodis Park

The largest soccer-specific stadium in the United States and Canada was built not in New York or Los Angeles but at the Nashville Fairgrounds. Geodis Park, at 501 Benton Avenue in the Wedgewood-Houston neighbourhood, opened on 1 May 2022 with Nashville SC hosting the Philadelphia Union before 30,109 fans - a figure that stands as both the stadium's capacity and its opening-day attendance. Designed by Populous and built for around 335 million dollars on the historic fairgrounds site, the stadium wraps every seat under a 360-degree canopy that holds noise in and Tennessee weather out. A 65-foot-wide open concourse circles the bowl, a safe-standing supporters' section rises behind the north goal, and the last row sits just 150 feet from the touchline - proportions that make 30,000 feel close to the pitch. Nashville SC, who had played their first MLS seasons at the Titans' NFL stadium, moved in as sole tenant, and the building immediately joined the sport's front rank: it hosted MLS playoff matches, the 2023 MLS All-Star Game, Concacaf competition and matches in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. The naming-rights partner, global logistics operator Geodis, signed on before opening. Beyond soccer the bowl works as a concert venue and community stage, with the fairgrounds' other life - the Tennessee State Fair, flea markets, the adjacent fairgrounds speedway - continuing around it. The Wedgewood-Houston district itself has boomed alongside, its warehouses now galleries, distilleries and restaurants. Match-day practicalities: parking on the fairgrounds is limited to about 5,000 cars and sells out, so rideshare, the WeGo bus routes or the neighbourhood walk from Melrose are the smarter plays. The Backline supporters march up Benton Avenue before kickoff remains the best free show in Nashville soccer.
