Isleta Casino & Resort - Showroom
click to manageThe room began life as New Mexico's biggest bingo hall - then a full rebuild turned it into what its owners call the best-sounding venue in Albuquerque. The Showroom at Isleta Resort and Casino, at 11000 Broadway SE on the Pueblo of Isleta just south of Albuquerque, is a 2,200-seat concert theatre inside one of the state's largest tribal resort properties. The resort itself opened in 1999 and has grown into a full destination: a 200-plus-room hotel, a casino floor of more than 1,700 slots and table games, a golf course, spa and convention space - the Pueblo of Isleta's flagship enterprise on its historic lands along the Rio Grande. The Showroom's modern form came from the resort's multi-year, multi-phase renovation completed in 2019: the old combination bingo-showroom was gutted and rebuilt with permanent stadium-style seating, a new sound system, and walls and ceiling engineered around acoustics - with a floor section that converts from organised seating to a dance pit depending on the act. The programming follows the casino-entertainment playbook at its best: touring country, classic rock, Latin and comedy headliners, tribute productions and boxing cards, giving the metro area a mid-size indoor alternative between Albuquerque's clubs and its 15,000-capacity amphitheatre - with the casino's restaurants and bars wrapped around every show night. Practical notes: the resort sits ten minutes south of downtown Albuquerque off Interstate 25 with vast free parking, showgoers must be 21 for the casino floor though showroom policies vary by event, and the property's dining - from steakhouse to buffet - makes dinner-and-a-show the default format. The Pueblo of Isleta itself is among the oldest continuously inhabited communities in the United States - the Tiwa-speaking village on the Rio Grande dates from around 1300, and its St. Augustine church, founded in 1612, is one of the oldest mission churches in the country. The resort's revenue funds tribal government, education and health services, making the Showroom's ticket sales part of a larger economic engine; the venue's rise also tracks the broader shift that has made tribal casinos some of the busiest concert promoters in the American West.
