The nicknames and side-tenants fill out the ledger: locals long called the building the Purple Palace, the NHL's Coyotes played their first seven Phoenix seasons here from 1996, the Arena Football Rattlers made it The Snake Pit for three decades and won ArenaBowl XI on its floor in 1997 - with renovations in 2003 and 2020 totalling some 67 million dollars keeping the 1992 shell current.
