Pacific Electric

The name honours the Red Cars - the Pacific Electric Railway streetcars that once stitched Los Angeles together - and the venue aims to do the same job for the city's music scene. Pacific Electric, inside the historic Naud Warehouse at 1729 Naud Street where Mission Junction meets Chinatown, opened in March 2026 as downtown LA's newest live music room. The developer is tvg Hospitality, the venue company founded in 2016 by Ben Lovett of Mumford and Sons, making this its first West Coast project; the firm spent over a year renovating the mural-covered brick warehouse beside Los Angeles State Historic Park. The opening run set the tone: a private Dawes show on 19 March 2026, the first ticketed concert the next night, a KCRW-presented Voxtrot date, Norah Jones, the California Chaos hardcore festival and a dozen Netflix Is A Joke Fest comedy shows in the first months - indie bands, soul collectives, rappers, punks, DJs, poets and comics, as the venue's own manifesto puts it. The room holds 750 with industrial character intact: raw brick, a state-of-the-art audio system, dynamic lighting and a cocktail program, with the space convertible for weddings, corporate events, award shows and film shoots through Live Nation Special Events. The location is sneakily central: the block reads as no man's land between the LA River, the train tracks and Chinatown, but David Chang's Majordomo is literally next door, Apotheke is a two-minute walk, and the State Historic Park lawn fronts the neighborhood. Practical notes: Naud Street crosses Willhardt a short hop from the Chinatown Gold Line station; street parking in the warehouse blocks fills fast on show nights, and the venue's community-first booking means plenty of local and emerging names between the marquee bookings. The parent company's track record set expectations: tvg Hospitality built its name on rooms like Omeara in London and a portfolio of venues across the UK and US South designed around artist experience - green rooms and load-ins treated as seriously as the front of house.
