The Au-Rene Theater is the larger of two performance spaces within the Broward Center for the Performing Arts at 201 Southwest 5th Avenue in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. With 2,688 seats spread across orchestra, loge, mezzanine, and balcony levels, the Au-Rene is the primary venue for touring Broadway productions, large-scale concerts, and national touring shows that visit South Florida, and one of the most attended performing arts theatres in the country. The Broward Center complex, designed by Benjamin Thompson and Associates and completed in 1991, occupies an eleven-acre campus on the New River. The Au-Rene anchors the complex alongside the intimate 582-seat Amaturo Theater and the 590-seat Abdo New River Room.
