Centennial Hall - Ontario

Opened on June 21, 1967, as the city's contribution to the Canadian Centennial, Centennial Hall at 550 Wellington Street in downtown London, Ontario, has served as one of the region's most versatile entertainment and convention venues for nearly six decades. Designed by architect Philip Carter Johnson, the hall originally seated 1,854 across three levels -- orchestra, mezzanine, and balcony. When Donald Jones Management Services took over operations in 1986, renovations reduced the capacity to 1,637 reserved seats (or 2,200 for general admission standing) to improve sightlines to the stage. The upper level features a large bar area and foyer alongside the tiered auditorium, while the lower level offers a separate banquet hall seating up to 700 for meetings or 600 for meals, with its own bar area and independent entrance. Together, the two levels provide over 14,000 square feet of event space. There is no curtain, orchestra pit, or fly gallery -- the hall operates as a versatile rental facility rather than a traditional proscenium theatre. Centennial Hall is owned by the City of London and has hosted acts ranging from Rush, Kiss, and The Ramones to The Tragically Hip, N'Sync, and Roger Whittaker, who once sold out five consecutive shows. Orchestra London Canada uses the hall as its home venue. The building sits in the hub of downtown London surrounded by hotels, restaurants, and tourist attractions. The box office can be reached at 519-672-1967.
