Publicly owned by Onondaga County, NBT Bank Stadium at 1 Tex Simone Drive in Syracuse, New York opened on April 10, 1997 as P&C Stadium, replacing the aging MacArthur Stadium that had served Syracuse's professional baseball teams since 1934. The current 10,815-seat facility is the home of the Syracuse Mets, the Triple-A affiliate of the New York Mets in the International League. Minor League Baseball has been a near-constant in Syracuse since 1934, when the Chiefs were established as a community-owned franchise -- shares were once available at $10 apiece. The New York Mets purchased the team after the 2017 season, and in 2019 the Syracuse Chiefs became the Syracuse Mets, the first time a Syracuse minor league team carried the same name as its parent club. Diamond Baseball Holdings acquired the Triple-A club at the end of 2024. A $25 million renovation approved in 2019 and completed by 2021 replaced all original seats with larger, more comfortable options and added social seating areas including drink rails and cafe-style tables, reducing capacity from the original 11,071 to the current 10,815. The field dimensions are 330 feet to left and right field and 400 feet to center. Luxury suites in three configurations and the Hank Sauer Banquet Room near the right field foul pole are available for events year-round. Record attendance stands at 14,098, set on May 7, 2010. Notable alumni who passed through Syracuse on their way to the majors include Fred McGriff, Max Scherzer, Roy Halladay, Bryce Harper, Jacob deGrom, Trea Turner, Robinson Cano, Thurman Munson, and Deion Sanders. The stadium has gone through several naming-rights agreements, from P&C Stadium to Alliance Bank Stadium (2005) to the current NBT Bank Stadium (2013).
